KSQ offers a complete line of Reverse Circulation hammers and spare parts, designed to replace KSQ series Reverse Circulation Hammers & Bits. Available in a wide range of sizes and styles, these hammers deliver maximum performance and longevity on all RC drilling operations.
Reverse Circulation hammers feature an inner sample tube that extends through the center and into the top of the hammer bit. The RC hammer exhausts air between the bit splines and over the face of the bit, forcing the sample into recovery holes in the bit face. The sample then travels through the center of the hammer and upward through the drill rod inner tubes to the surface for collection. A shroud or collar is required to direct return air and cuttings up through the bit face.
While conventional DTH hammers can be used in RC drilling operations, they increase the potential for sample loss and contamination. Conventional systems require a cross-over sub between the hammer and drill rod, with samples traveling from the bit face up the outside of the hammer before being directed into the cross-over sub and up through the dual wall rods.
