T6-101 Impregnated Diamond Core Bit for Core Drilling

T6 series core bits are designed for surface exploration with the T6 series core barrel. Impregnated diamond bits can penetrate a broad range of formations from the softest to the hardest rocks. They are manufactured with very small, high quality synthetic diamonds mixed evenly through a tungsten carbide matrix. During drilling, the matrix wears away evenly, resulting in continuous exposure of new, sharp diamond points throughout the life of the bit.

All impregnated bits feature T.C. and diamond gauge protection. The optimum diamond size, concentration, and matrix composition vary according to the hardness and abrasiveness of the rock formations to be drilled.

Impregnated Type

Impregnated Diamond Core Bits are manufactured with very small, high quality synthetic diamonds mixed evenly through a metal alloy matrix. The matrix erodes away at the same rate as the diamonds become worn and rounded, exposing new sharp diamonds to continue cutting through the rock. In most geological formations, impregnated bits are more economical to use than other bit types.

Surface Set Type

Surface Set Diamond Core Bits feature a single layer of industrial natural diamonds mounted on the matrix as the working surface. Compared to impregnated bits, the matrix is extremely hard to hold the diamonds in position throughout the bit life. KSQ manufactured Surface Set Diamond Core Bits provide the highest quality in China and are recommended for soft to medium hard, abrasive, unconsolidated formations, and for projects where timing is a top priority. Some specially designed KSQ Surface Set bits are also recommended for hard formations with lower rotational speed and bit load.

The Surface Set product line includes various diamond grades, stone sizes, and matrix profiles for different solutions (DCDMA, CDDA, Craelius, ISO, etc.). We also provide custom design services for special conditions.
